Introduction
Returning to the iconic London Aquatics Centre, the 2025 Speedo Aquatics GB Swimming Championships raised the bar once again with sell-out crowds, world-class performances, and record-breaking digital engagement. In a standout non-Olympic year, Limitless Broadcast continued its partnership with Aquatics GB and ELEV8 to deliver six days of high-impact live coverage, cementing the Championships’ position as a marquee event on the British sporting calendar.
With more than 500,000 streams across BBC iPlayer and YouTube for the second consecutive year, and a 358% year-on-year rise in TikTok engagement, the event demonstrated its growing impact across digital and broadcast platforms. Instagram Reels views topped 4 million, and over 7 million total social content views were achieved, in part thanks to seamless technical and editorial collaboration across production and social teams.
This year’s coverage was directed by Drew Hill, with a fresh presenting team led by BBC’s Betty Glover, replacing John Mason and Ellie Simmonds OBE. Their insightful commentary and energy brought added vibrancy to the poolside studio and helped deepen viewer engagement across platforms. As highlighted by British Swimming, the BBC Sport broadcast deal further elevated the competition's profile and ensured widespread national coverage.
Continued Innovation & Collaboration
Limitless Broadcast once again provided a robust flyaway OB setup supporting 14 line cameras, including handheld RF and underwater PTZs, and a poolside track cam delivering dynamic race coverage. Integrated augmented graphics and poolside commentary enriched the viewing experience for both in-venue and at-home audiences.
The editorial and technical collaboration between Limitless, ELEV8, and Aquatics GB deepened in 2025. Production workflows were optimized to serve not only live broadcast but also digital-first delivery. Footage was instantly repurposed for social use, supporting the explosive growth in online engagement metrics seen year-on-year.
15 records were broken - British, European, and World - as the athletes delivered exceptional performances on a global stage. The event also achieved the highest attendance ever for an Aquatics GB Championship in a non-Olympic and non-Paralympic year, underlining its growing popularity and cultural relevance.
Social Impact & Accessibility
More than 1,000 individuals took part in community and social impact activities around the event. The commitment to inclusivity was reflected through broad digital accessibility.
Limitless deployed EVS XT-VIA systems networked to a central SAN, with XtraMotion Generative AI being used to create superslow replays in real-time. From studio openers to vertical social highlights, content was crafted to engage every segment of the modern audience.
Claire Wilkie, CEO of Limitless Broadcast, reflected: “It’s been hugely rewarding to return for a second year and help build on the momentum. The synergy between ELEV8, Aquatics GB, and our team is the foundation for continued success. We’re proud to deliver both the innovation and reliability such a high-profile championship deserves.”
